Bankruptcy chapter and status divergence across agencies

TIER 2 · MATERIAL REVIEW DOCUMENT-BACKED

One agency used a bankruptcy category different from the court disposition. Other agencies reflected corrected or materially different account states.

How it works

Four steps. The law does the heavy lifting.

STEP 01

Get your reports

All three, free, from the federally authorized site. It's a soft pull — it never touches your score. We show you exactly how, and why monitoring apps aren't a substitute.

~10 minutes
STEP 02

Upload all three

Drag in the PDFs — one slot per bureau, so nothing gets missed. Your documents stay inside the audit boundary. Never sold, never used to train anything, never shown to anyone without your consent.

~2 minutes
STEP 03

The engine audits

Every tradeline, compared across bureaus and against your court record. Every finding must cite the statute it implicates and the evidence behind it — or it isn't a finding.

minutes, not months
STEP 04

Your findings + plan

A plain-language audit and strategy: what to dispute, when to escalate to a complaint, what's worth an attorney's eyes — plus your file's expiration map: every negative item's legal fall-off date, watched. You see everything before you pay anything.

Case zero
"I found the violations on my own post-bankruptcy credit file by hand. It took months. Then we built the engine that finds them in minutes — and it caught ones I missed."
— Founder, VetMyCredit

Where are you starting from?

Three paths in. One standard of proof.

Path A

After bankruptcy

Discharged debts still reporting balances, wrong chapter codes, stay-period delinquencies — post-bankruptcy files are where reporting errors concentrate. This is the path our founder walked.

Start here →
Path B

Considering bankruptcy

What it actually does, what it costs, what the rules are, and how your credit file behaves afterward — in plain language, with the statutes behind a tap. If it's the right tool, we'll say so, and you can choose to talk to a bankruptcy attorney.

Start here →
Path C

Cleaning up errors

No bankruptcy — just a file that doesn't match reality. Same audit, same standard: document-backed findings with the statute cited, and a plan for disputes done right.

Dispute vs. complaint

Start with a dispute. A complaint is your escalation, not your first move.
Dispute → the bureau 30–45 day investigation clock
Complaint → the CFPB 15-day company response, public record
Escalate when deadline blown, or "verified" wrong
When to use which →

Your reports, free, the right way

The federally authorized site gives you all three bureaus, free, every week — as a soft pull. Save the PDFs: they're your evidence. Monitoring apps typically show two bureaus; single-bureau errors hide in the third.

Straight answers

We audit the bureaus, not you.

The questions people actually have, answered the way we'd want them answered.

What if my report has no errors?
That's good news, and we say so — a clean audit means nobody can sell you "repair." You still leave with a plan: your file's expiration map (every negative item has a legal fall-off date under federal law — we compute yours and watch it), free goodwill-letter drafts where they make sense, and a straight list of what actually moves your situation — and what not to pay anyone for.
My credit is genuinely bad. Can you still help?
Yes — and without judgment, because we audit files, not people. Every audit returns three things: any errors (disputed with evidence), your expiration map (items that must legally fall off, with dates — items that overstay are themselves disputable), and honest options for what's accurate — goodwill requests, hardship programs, how time and recency actually work, and when bankruptcy is a legitimate tool worth discussing with an attorney. What you'll never get here: shame, or a promise nobody can keep.
Can you remove accurate information?
No — and neither can anyone else. Accurate, timely information can't be removed, and companies that imply otherwise are the reason this industry has a reputation. What CAN go: inaccurate items, unverifiable items, and items past their legal reporting period. That's where we work, with the statute cited every time.
I already use a credit monitoring app. Isn't that enough?
Monitoring tells you when something changes; an audit tells you what's wrong. Most free apps also show two of the three bureaus — single-bureau errors hide in the one you can't see. We compare all three against each other and against your documents.
Is the audit really free?
Really. No card, no trial, no "premium findings" held back. How that works as a business is a fair question — here's the whole answer.
When it's bigger than a dispute

Some errors are violations. Bring evidence, not accusations.

When your audit surfaces document-backed findings that may support a legal claim, you can choose — with your explicit consent, one named firm at a time — to send your case package to a vetted consumer-law firm. Or take your findings and file yourself. Your file, your call, either way.

How the attorney lane works →

Plainly stated

What we are. What we are not.

We are
  • An audit platform: we find documented reporting errors
  • Statute-cited: every finding names the law it implicates
  • Evidence-first: no document, no finding — held means held
  • Free until you see results — the audit costs $0
We are not
  • A credit repair company — we don't "remove" accurate history
  • A law firm — findings are information, not legal advice
  • A score-promise machine — anyone promising points is lying
  • An ad platform — your data is never sold or used to train AI

How it's free: the audit costs us little to run, so we give it away. If you want help acting on what it finds, that's the part you can choose to pay for — after you've seen the findings. No subscriptions, no timers, no "act now." The full answer →
